NWKTC Active Participant at Sport & Travel Shows

The Northwest Kansas Travel Council will once again be well-represented at Midwest travel and tourism shows in 2008.  The Travel Council will have booths at the Kansas City Sportshow, January 9-13; the Denver Sportsmen's Show January 24-27; and in Wichita at the Kansas Sports, Boat and Travel Show February 21-24.  The Travel Council will also host a Northwest Kansas Tent at the Kansas Sampler Festival to be held in Concordia, KS on May 3 & 4, 2008.

In addition, in March of 2008, the Northwest Kansas Travel Council will be part of the largest sport and travel show in the United States, when it participates in the Fred Hall Fishing Tackle, Boat and Travel Show in Long Beach, California.  Most national and international observers think that the Fred Hall/ASA Long Beach Show is the finest fishing show in the world.  The Long Beach Show has become the unofficial “trade show” for consumers.

Literally hundreds of brochures, maps, and vacation guides were given out during each show last year.  Northwest Kansas has proven to be a popular destination for hunters, fishermen, outdoor enthusiasts, and vacationers looking to get away from the rat race of the city.

The Northwest Kansas Travel Council, made up of eighteen counties of northwest Kansas, attends the shows each year to promote our part of the state and to inform interested parties about the many opportunities that are available.  Not only are hunting and fishing opportunities abundant, but northwest Kansas is rich in history and offers scenic vistas that surprise many visitors.

If you are unable to attend the shows but are interested in knowing more about northwest Kansas, contact any member of the Travel Council by clicking on any county on our homepage.  Explore our website to find out more about attractions and special events that are coming up.  Better yet, come and see us in person!
