Stockton is the county seat of Rooks County and is nestled along the scenic Solomon Valley on the eastern edge of the Great Plains. A prairie setting of rolling hills and spacious skies, Stockton is the gateway to Webster Reservoir and State Park a few miles to the west of town. It is also home to one of the longest-running county fairs in the state--the Rooks County Free Fair held each August. The Rooks County Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.
