“The Queen City of Paradise Flats” is the largest community in Rooks County located at the intersections of US Hwy 183 and Kansas Hwy 18.  Plainville is home to Ag, Oil, Rooks Co. Health Center, and Plainville Township Lake.  First settled in 1877, Plainville developed on the plains between the South Fork Solomon River to the north and Saline River to the south.  Plainville Township Lake is located SW of town and provides fishing and camping opportunities.
